Due to the high latitude of Vesleskarvet (72 °S), in summer the sun never set. What is less well known, is that sometimes the moon also never set. This happens during winter, when the sun is constantly below the horizon. This picture was taken at noon, with the moon just disappearing behind Lorenzenpiggen, a mountain to the south of Vesleskarvet.
