Helen's Holiday

My good friend Helen came to visit me in Bronkhorstspruit during April 2005. We went to visit the Kruger Park and spent a week in Cape Town.

On the Kruger Park visit we drove from Bronkhorstspruit to Punda Maria Gate, via Louis Trichardt. We spent one night each in Punda Maria, Shingwedzi and Letaba, exiting the park at the Phalaborwa Gate. From there we went through the Abel Erasmus Pass to Graskop, where we spent the night at the Panorama Rest Camp, on the very edge of the escarpment. On the last day we went to see the Bourke's Luck Potholes, before we returned home via Lydenburg and Belfast.

In Cape Town we stayed mostly in the Strand, with two trips to Cape Town proper, seeing the Castle and the V&A Waterfront (didn't go up the mountain) and a kind of business trip to the Magnetic Observatory in Hermanus.

I did not write anything about this holiday. Helen kept a blog, and we took a lot of photos.
